Enjoy an evening exploring the tales and writing process of Corry native, John Seitz – the author of “Corry Stories.” Learn how and why he became a first-time writer just six years ago at the age of 70, and his approach to discovering potential stories about Corry and his writing selection process. John will be reading a few newly written accounts of growing up in Corry and selections from his upcoming book “I See Stories…Observations of Love and Discovery from Within the Ordinary.” He will also encourage those attending to share their memories of Corry - memories that may have been sparked by some of John’s stories. For those interested in publishing a book, John will be available to discuss Amazon publishing and the practical concerns with, and benefits of, self-publishing. “Corry Stories” will be available for purchase at the event. This free presentation will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 6:30p-8p at the Corry Hi-Ed. Preregistration is required and can be completed at www.corryhied.org or by calling 814-664-9405.
I’m looking forward to my evening with you at Corry Hi-Ed. Come and tell me some of your experiences growing up in Corry or another small town. I’ll be happy to share what I’ve learned about self publishing with anyone thinking of writing a book The next book is almost finished. I’ll read a few selections from it. Cheers for Corry! John Seitz
This historic building opened in 1924 and served the community as a hotel until the Corry Higher Education Council purchased it in 1991. The ensuing years have seen this cornerstone downtown building preserved and transformed into a vibrant facility that includes classrooms, computer labs, and office space. It truly is a place that adult students can call home. https://corryhied.coursestorm.com
