Our story began with a dedicated search in 1959, culminating in the formation of the Society on June 1, 1965. Driven by the desire to preserve a piece of Corry's industrial heritage – a coal-fired Climax locomotive built right here until 1930 – a passionate group of individuals embarked on a mission. Their efforts led to the acquisition of a Climax engine, which found its permanent home in our museum. From this initial spark of preservation, the Corry Area Historical Society, Inc. grew. Delve into a treasure trove of photographs, maps, genealogical records, and meticulously organized newspaper clippings, offering invaluable insights into local families, organizations, businesses, and events.
